Proactively lead, guide and support strategic decision making with regard to demand and capacity
for NTO and the technology platforms. Role holder ensures availability of long-term capacity plans and scenarios for key technology platforms to optimize asset utilization, support strategic investment/divestment decisions and support supply point decision process.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of the global Platform strategy for affected sites while ensuring relevant stakeholder management within the Platform, as well as at Site level. 
  • Ensure alignment, maintenance and execution of Platform Strategy, especially by facilitating the corresponding governance process elements for regular Strategy Review, and strategic decision making in line with Platforms decision making process. 
  • Consolidate scenario readout and key assumptions describing portfolio development (e.g. transfers, divestments) and articulate options and recommendations for Platform LT assessment and approval. This involves deep business understanding to interpret data, build scenarios, and understand vulnerabilities and long term capacity sensitivities. 
  • Work with NTO SCM to co-ordinate commercial/ development demands and ensure data ownership is clear and assumptions behind the data are transparent and agreed with the relevant demand owners. 
  • Ensures the preparation of workcenter/technology/site based capacity plans based on demand coming from commercial operations through NTO Supply Chain. 
  • Drive Long Term Capacity plans for all sites that ensure available long term capacity at optimized cost and consistent with the Platform strategy and objectives 
  • Work collaboratively as part of the central LTDCP team to ensure a single, consolidated, NTO view of demand and capacity is available as per the NTO strategic plan timelines 
  • Own capacity planning tool (METIS system), proposing performance improvements and oversighting necessary maintenance and governance. Support digital initiatives, as SPOC for LTDCP process, to identify alternative and more effective demand and capacity tools.

Essential Requirements: 

 

  • Minimum 7 years' experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the Pharma or Specialty Chemicals Industry Some years' experience in Operational Excellence/ Business Process Analysis and Transformation/ Re-engineering (e.g. as a Consultant) desirable. 
  • Technical/Scientific degree level qualification (Pharmacy, Engineer, Chemistry). Post-degree level study in technical field or MBA desired.
