About the Role

The Senior Automation Engineer will play a pivotal role in the seamless integration of new equipment and the ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification of current GMP and non-GMP automation systems within our Radioligand Therapies (RLT) Manufacturing Site.  This encompasses Process Automation systems as (semi) automated PLC controlled production lines, SCADA systems, Building management systems, standalone control systems, third party equipment and the related vertical integration

You will ensure efficient operations within the operational technology (OT) scope of our (semi)-automated lines, vertical integration systems, coordinate cross-functional collaboration locally and globally, and uphold vendor timelines and agreements. Strong communication and leadership will be essential as you drive success in these efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise for the design, configuration, installation, and maintenance of automation software and hardware, collaborating as needed with other teams.
  • Lead or oversee automation aspects of CAPEX projects and Operations, including third-party equipment integration, EMS and BMS systems, data concentration, batch reporting, and data retention.
  • Develop 24/7 site-based support after startup, preparing scopes of work and managing automation contractors to meet requirements from Site and projects effectively.
  • Identify cost-effective systems and technology to meet operational needs.
  • Engage with internal business partners to align on priorities and ensure clear, transparent communication of information.
  • Generate equipment specifications and create standard documentation (e.g., URS, FS, DDS/HDS/SDS, CS).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues impacting production.
  • Develop and update procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Author and revise SOPs to align with internal standards and regulatory compliance.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience leading teams in automation or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of automation systems and computer system validation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Dutch, written and verbal.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in radioligand therapy manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with GxP environments and regulatory compliance standards.
